Why I write (as of 2026)

For a long time in my life, basically until my early twenties I kept opinions to my own. So I surprized many people when I suddenly started to rather have hard opinions, both on minor points such as style or larger issues such as political happenings in my country. And in my writing I'm currently showing my opinions on an open-source project I'm involved in.

Another important point to me is that when I write I potentially can get the emotions I feel better across, since my face lacks any sort of "indication" of what I feel, except when I'm actually happy and relaxed. It also helps me sort them out, since when I write I need to actually think about how to put them into sentences.

And if you follow my "Year in Jujutsu" series, I am also trying to use my writing to give some insights into how I think, although I think that has shown moderate success thus far. I am using this because I have the feeling of constantly being misunderstood.

My second to last reason is that I realized that I have some technical writing chops and have some ideas to talk about, be it about Jujutsu, Sapling, MLIR, LLVM or just another ABAP tutorial.

And the final reason, you need to write things to write.
